Clearwater,
Florida: The Boards of Directors of Pact, Inc. and
the PAC Foundation and staff members were informed
this morning that Ruth Eckerd passed away on Tuesday,
July 18, 2006.
In
a joint statement, Robert A. Freedman, President and
CEO of Pact, Inc. and Kathy Short Rabon, Executive
Director of the PAC Foundation commented: "We are
truly sorry for the great loss our community has suffered
today and our thoughts and prayers go out to the members
of the Eckerd Family. Mrs. Eckerd was a great leader
in the arts and many other organizations that help
make this community a great place to live. We are
proud to carry on her vision of the arts through the
facility that bears her name."
