Support the Future of Performing Arts.
Through the generous support of our contributors during the 2010 fiscal year, Ruth Eckerd Hall provided subsidized performing arts education for more than 86,000 students. We need your help to fulfill our mission to provide life-long learning experiences, exploration, discovery and mastery of the performing arts in our community. Please consider a gift to support:
Eckerd Theater Company (ETC)
Ruth Eckerd Hall's professional theater company brings live performance to young audiences throughout Florida and the eastern U.S. ETC reached over 50,000 people last year - often times the first or only theater experience a child will receive. Performing in cafeterias, libraries and gymnasiums, ETC can reach many young people with one show - stretching the benefit impact of a single grant or benefactor. An enriching gift for any school or special group you wish to support or we can identify a school in need for you to sponsor.
Artists on the Road (AOR)
The AOR program brings schools and artists together to enhance student's learning process and provide arts instruction in the classroom. More than 1,800 students benefited this past year. Sponsor a workshop for an elementary, middle or high school class or special needs group of any age.
This series provides low-cost, live performances from around the world here on one of our stages. This is often the introduction to younger students of live theater, classical music and adaptations of classic literature to young students. More than 8,900 students attended in 2010. Contributors are needed to underwrite ticket and transportation subsidies for schools lacking the funds to attend.
Exploratory and Preparatory Classes, Private Lessons and Scholarships
Enrollment in a performing arts course is not only an adventure for the participant but is proven to build creativity, self-esteem and communication skills. Preparatory classes focus on professional development of the student pursuing a career in the arts. High school scholarships are awarded to assist with education costs at the university level. What better way to support our future community and our future artists than to sponsor a child in financial need with a tuition gift?
Gifts may be made in honor of a loved one or to celebrate a special occasion. Donations are tax deductible. For more information, please contact the development office at (727) 791-7060.
"With the unfortunate downturn of the economy and our income with it, we have not been able to continue during the year with Meghan's studies at the Institute, but with tuition assistance available...our daughter now eagerly awaits summer so she can attend her home away from home. Thank you so much....It has enriched her life beyond measure." - Meghan's mom
