Service Animals

Our venues support the rights and attendance of all persons with disabilities that rely on the special skills of a trained service animal.

We do not support pets being misrepresented by their owners as service animals, when they are not.

Venue Service Animal Definition: A ‘service animal’ is defined as “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the handler’s disability.”

Emotional support or comfort animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and therefore are not allowed. Please note that all service dogs, including those from out of state are required to have a valid rabies certificate.

Measures to Support Accessibility

Ruth Eckerd Hall Inc. takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.

  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Ruth Eckerd Hall Experience is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional Accessibility Considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: Images of text are only used for decorative purposes. Re-authentication after a session expires does not cause loss of data. And all videos are captioned

We welcome your feedback. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers at any of our venues:
