Buddy Guy
Buddy Guy 90 Tour with special guest Taj Farrant
GRAMMY® Award winner and Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer, Buddy Guy, returns to Ruth Eckerd Hall with special guest Taj Farrant on his Buddy Guy 90 Tour!
At nearly 90 years old, Buddy Guy remains one of the most celebrated blues guitarists of his generation, possessing a sound and style that embodies the traditions of classic Chicago blues while also embracing the fire and flash of rock & roll. Guy began his recording career in 1959 and scored his first hit in 1960 with First Time I Met the Blue. Buddy's time came in 1991 with the breakthrough of Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues, the first of his many albums to reach the Billboard charts. The Buddy Guy 90 Tour offers audiences a rare opportunity to witness a living legend on some of the world’s most storied stages, including the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. A celebration not just of longevity, but of an artist who continues to perform with the passion and power that made him an icon, these shows are a tribute to the blues, its past, its future, and one of its greatest champions!
Taj is often referred to as the reincarnation of Stevie Ray Vaughan due to his exceptional guitar skills and stage presence. He developed a passion for guitar at the age of seven, and since then, his talent has been recognized worldwide. His virtuosic guitar skills, combined with his unique blend of rock, blues and funk influences, have made him a rising star in the music world. His single Crossroads, released in 2023, created waves on both the Australian and U.S. Blues Singles Charts. He has amassed a large following on social media, now reaching over 1 million online fans across the world. His debut album tour, titled Chapter One, showcases his exceptional talent and eclectic musical style, blending rock, blues, and pop influences. With electrifying performances and heartfelt songwriting, Farrant captivates audiences as he embarks on this new artistic journey, solidifying his place in the music scene and promising a bright future ahead.
