Rise Against
with special guests Alkaline Trio and Teen Mortgage
Rise Against with special guests Alkaline Trio and Teen Mortgage make their debut at The BayCare Sound, bringing a powerhouse night of punk rock energy, passion, and iconic anthems to the stage!
Formed in Chicago in 1999, Rise Against has become one of the most influential punk rock bands of the past two decades, known for fusing blistering speed, melodic hooks, and socially conscious lyrics. Emerging from the city’s underground hardcore scene, the band quickly gained attention for their message driven songwriting and relentless work ethic. With chart topping albums and modern classics like Swing Life Away, Savior, Prayer of the Refugee, and Ready to Go, Rise Against has built a global following while staying rooted in authenticity and purpose. Renowned for their explosive live shows, they continue to inspire fans with music that is both emotionally powerful and fiercely energizing.
Chicago punk veterans Alkaline Trio formed in the mid 1990s and became cult favorites through constant touring and a string of influential underground releases. Known for blending punk grit with dark humor and emotional depth, the band developed a sound that set them apart within the genre. Best known for songs like Radio, Stupid Kid, and Private Eye, Alkaline Trio pairs sharp lyricism with catchy, melancholic hooks. Decades into their career, they remain a defining force in punk rock, delivering intense and memorable live performances.
Washington DC’s Teen Mortgage climbed from the city’s primordial punk soup in 2017 after guitarist/vocalist James Guile relocated to the nation’s capital from Liverpool, UK and by a stroke of luck was quickly able to find hard hitting drummer Ed Barkauskas via a desperate craigslist post. As a two piece they stood out – crossbreeding east coast hardcore aggression and garage/surf sleaze with a focus on pop sensibility. This sonic blend perfectly set the scene for vocalist and guitarist James Guile to illustrate what he describes as “the absurdity of living in the era of late-stage capitalism and tech feudalism”. He adds, “it’s even woven into our name, like Mortgage in latin means ‘death pledge.” Teen Mortgage’s acerbic intensity was noticed by Brooklyn, NY label King Pizza Records, who released the duo’s 2019 EP Life/Death and 2021’s Smoked.
