Morning at the Zoo
Flight of the Bumblebee & Carnival of the Animals
Conductors
Chelsea Gallo
Guest Artists
Maggie O’Leary, bassoon
Warning: This one gets a little wild. Led by Chelsea Gallo, Morning at the Zoo is packed with musical animals of every shape and speed. You’ll hear the buzz and blur of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, the playful parade of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, and the tiny, toe-tapping mischief of Modest Mussorgsky’s Ballet of the Chicks in Their Shells, plus more colorful moments from Pictures at an Exhibition. In the middle of it all, TFO’s own Maggie O’Leary takes center stage in Antonio Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto — showing just how nimble, quirky and downright fun the bassoon can be. It’s a morning perfect for animal lovers of all ages.
