25-26 SchoolTime Series Recap
The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts’ SchoolTime Series offers students more than just a new adventure, it’s an opportunity to experience the performing arts, learn new skills and see professional artists up-close. As the season comes to an end, let’s reflect on all the wonderful performances presented this year!
REVolutions Dance, Inc. returned for a second time to deliver a beautiful and captivating performance, using dance and imagery to educate students about respecting our differences and how we can work together to create a welcoming environment for all.
In Dino Academy: A Dinosaur Discovery Show, students traveled back to prehistoric times and with the help of the clever Dr. Sarah Tops, they even get up close and personal with a dinosaur.
Shiver Me Timbers! This semester, SchoolTime students had the chance to dive into their inner pirate. In Pirate School: Follow Your Compass, students learned that even the toughest pirates know that respect, responsibility and compassion are values to hold close to the chest.
Students also enjoyed a puppet show starring the famous cat adventurer Puss In Boots, performed by the talented Bits N Pieces Puppet Theatre. Students sat on the edge of their seats, fully immersed in a story that has been retold for hundreds of years.
The talented singers, dancers and musicians of Celtic Angels taught the students about Ireland through song and elaborate dance numbers. At the end, the kids even picked up a few dance moves of their own!
Award-winning children’s musician Roger Day performed two back-to-back concerts at The BayCare Sound and the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Kids of all ages were singing along to his educational and catchy songs.
Dr. Kaboom made for an explosive and dynamic finale to the SchoolTime Series! Working in his laboratory at the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, The Doktor amazed his audience with creative science experiments and important lessons about science safety.
The SchoolTime Series, presented by the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall, delivers the joy and wonder of live theater to thousands of local school children every year.
A big thank you to all the wonderful sponsors, Duke Energy, Raymond James and Pinellas Community Foundation, for helping to make this year’s SchoolTime Series possible.
